Goal Posts
![]() Goal posts are used with a regulation football like a Spalding football to play American football. A goal post is a large y-shaped goal, which players try to kick field goals through in order to score points during a football game. The cross bar of a regulation goal post is located 10 feet off the ground. The two uprights are 18 feet, 6 inches apart. The goal post is centered in the center of the fields width and located at the outer edge of the end zone, so a set of two goal posts is required for each football field.
